ESET vs. Competition

To achieve the ICSA Labs Certification, products must demonstrate the capability to detect, identify and prevent self-replicating malware while reporting no false positives. ICSA Labs certifies ESET NOD32 Antivirus on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 in both detection and cleaning.

In addition, ESET is the first and only company in the world with ICSA antivirus certification for ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition for Mac OS X.

ESET NOD32 Antivirus has achieved more Virus Bulletin VB100 Awards than any other product. In order to get awarded, product must detect all In-the-Wild viruses while reporting no false positives. ESET NOD32 has never missed an In-The-Wild virus.

ESET NOD32 was named "Best Antivirus Product" of 2006 and 2007; "Best Proactive on-demand Detection" and "Best Overall Performance" in 2008. ESET has more Advanced+ awards than any other vendor.

Each quarter, AV-Test.org tests security products in areas of protection, repair and usability. ESET met all the requirements and achieved certification for both Windows 7 and Windows XP operating system.

West Coast Labs' Checkmark certifications are awarded based on products' ability to detect and remove threats. ESET currently holds Checkmark certifications in both detection and removal of infections and have recently added certification for mobile security anti-malware, mobile security loss control and is now certified for detection of chinese malware.

ESET Smart Security and ESET NOD32 Antivirus have both garnered OPSWAT Certification. This certifies that these ESET products are verified interoperable with solutions from leading technology vendors using the OESIS Framework.

In May 2010, ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition was awarded with the "Citrix Ready" certification. This certification confirms that ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition completed a rigorous verification process and works effectively on Citrix XenApp virtual environments.

In September 2010, ESET Smart Security Business Edition was awarded its first "VMware Ready" certification. Since then, ESET NOD32 Antivirus Business Edition and ESET Mail Security for Microsoft Exchange Server were also awarded the "VMware Ready" certification. This certification confirms, that ESET products run smoothly in VMware virtual environments.

ESET Smart Security gained the CheckVir Advanced award in proactive test (December 2008) where CheckVir Lab tested the heuristic capabilities of several antivirus products. ESET holds more CheckVir Advanced certifications than any other vendor.

In December 2008, ESET Smart Security was awarded with CheckVir Mailscanner award. To pass the certification process, antivirus products must stop all infected outgoing and incoming e-mail messages.

ESET Smart Security Business Edition was successfully tested by TUV and is authorized to use TUV's "Approved Virus Protection" label.
