W97M/Eight941.D is a macro virus operating in the Microsoft Word 97 environments. It attacks active documents and the global template normal.dot.
Upon opening the infected document W97M/Eight941.D the virus attacks the global template normal.dot and the active document. After the global template was infected it attacks documents when they are being opened.
The virus contains activating routine that is started on July 1st and November 10th. On those days the virus sets password “xyz” to all files with extension .doc, that are located on the disk C:.
