This is a simple 3064>boot virus occupying 2 Kb below the top of the memory. When an attempt is made to load the system from an infected diskette the hard disk’s 3071>MBR is attacked. All diskettes that are not write-protected are also attacked. The virus stores the text “WXYC” into the area where volume label is located and the text is used as an infection identifier. Loading the system from an infected diskette or hard disk sometimes causes displaying of the following text on the screen:
WXYC rules this roost!
This text is visible at the end of the infected diskettes sectors.
